Today was the day that Goldie was going to have his vet check. Stacy headed out to the small pasture she'd kept the foal in over night. "Goldie!" she called, "Come here boy!" but the colt didn't make his way forward. He neighed and whinnied prancing in place, almost daring her to approach him. Walking forward she called again, "Come here Goldie." With a playful whinny he reared up and raced off.

"Goldie, no!" she called after the colt, "We don't have time for games, the vet's coming soon." However he didn't listen prancing off, enjoying their game of chase.

After using every method she knew to try and catch the runaway Goldie and still failing, Stacy collapsed in the middle of the field from exhaustion. At this Goldie whinnied triumphantly. Slowly he trotted up to the girl on the ground to come over and sniff at her face. Chuckling softly she muttered, "You little rascal..."

Before long the sound of a car approaching the stable could be heard over the natural noise of their home. Quickly getting up she slipped a halter over Goldie's head while he was distracted listening to the car. "Gottcha!" With a wide grin she lead him up to the stable as the vet was getting out of the car. He protested a little along the way but was mostly no trouble.

"Is this my patient?" the man asked her.

"It is indeed," she replied giving the colt a scratch behind his ears. "Um how about we head inside." Stacy gestured toward the stables, receiving a curt nod in reply.

Together they went inside and the vet began his examination. Goldie didn't quiet like being examined and made a few protests giving the vet a little grief but nothing he hadn't seen before. And before long it was over and he was let out into the pasture once more having been shown to be as fit as a fiddle. The cold frolicking in his new found freedom after his brief 'imprisonment.'
